With winter winding down, random warm, or inconsistent days, and cold quickly coming in. We've experienced all 4 seasons off and on for the past month or so, and I barely got any wear out of my winter coat. With this, I've been making more use of my medium weight jackets, but sometimes those aren't enough when the temps decide to drop last minute, so I figured getting a heated vest would be a good option. Thankfully I was able to grab this via Amazon Vine! Although I wasn't able to choose the color, and it came without a battery pack, it was no big deal for me as I have plenty of battery packs and cables this would work with! (According to manufacturers instructions, the product information, this works best with a 5V2A battery pack, with a USB-A cable.)Although I was hoping for a black version, I was given the grey, and perfectly happy with that, as I use it more as an undercoat anyways, and if I decide to wear the vest alone, it's a neutral enough color to work with most of my wardrobe. The fabric itself is 100% Nylon, much like my puffer coats, so it's light, and the quilted details on it are nice and form fitting. I am 5ft tall, and fluctuate between 118-123 lbs and a small is just perfect, with a little bit of room to fit a hoodie underneath. There are two outside pockets, and one inside to hold the battery pack safely. As you can see, there are multiple zones throughout the vest, including the back of the neck, and the only area without coils are on the chest. There's also a toggle pull on both sides, on the inside of the vest, to tighten the bottom hem and I'm assuming to help keep some heat in, as well as keeping cold air out.First of all, the control on the front of the vest is conveniently lit, but you can totally turn that off once in use. It was advertised that at the high setting, this can get as hot as 140 degrees, but I found over time, the heat actually moves around in zones and ranged from 82 degrees to 125 degrees throughout. It's kind of nice that it does that, because too much heat in one area for too long, can get uncomfortable. Also, please do as the instructions say, and don't have it where the coils are touching bare skin, I felt it around the neck area and I knew that wouldn't be pleasant for an extended amount of time, as that can burn you! In addition, over 20 minutes of use, I ended up using about 20% of my battery, and I had no issues charging any of my devices while it ran either.I'm always cold, and I like this vest a ton! I even wear it in the house when I don't want to turn the heat up! It has become a great addition to my winter to spring wardrobe, and will come in just as handy on random days in the seasons to come, where it just gets a bit cold for me. I love it! I may grab a couple of more different styles because comfort Is definitely an investment for me!
